Our home washed drying only service is very popular with our customers and just recently we fitted an eighth large capacity dryer (we have had seven of these machines for many years). This will help alleviate any waiting time during periods of high demand for this popular service.
We also offer a take-in service for drying only washing.
Although we are conveniently located on the edge of the City Centre loading and unloading is legal outside the main entrance on Chapel Hill despite the double yellow lines, and parking is also available nearby. Please ask staff for information.
Our Big Green Drying Machines are large and efficient and are at least as cheap to use as your home dryer...and much quicker too.
The launderette is fully staffed at all times and our friendly, experienced and helpful staff have worked with us for many years. They are always on hand to offer advice with regard to washing, maintaining the quality of your garments, and whether your fabric is more suited for dry cleaning.
Truro Launderette was purchased by the family in 1978 (40+ years ago!) - the original business was in a barely profitable trading position with 6 steam dryers in situ (the steam was supplied to heat exchangers - a sort of radiator from a one million BTU steam boiler that took up a massive amount of space behind the dryers) that were hugely inefficient. Our investment into the business began and within 18 months we installed 7 'state of the art' gas dryers and buying just one new front loading washing machine - this was all we could afford based on the money the bank would lend us at that time. Since then we have completely refitted the launderette a number of times and we are one of the few remaining small family businesses in Truro.
